December 2017

“You are your greatest asset. Put your time, effort, and money into
training, grooming, and encouraging your greatest asset!” (Tom Hopkins)
Hearing technology and lipreading can be your greatest assets, too!

The Mission Viejo Chapter, of the Hearing Loss Association, is proud to present Penny Flaherty, who will explain how lip-reading is helpful for those with a hearing loss. In addition, she will describe what you can learn in her lip-reading classes about communication strategies for your hearing loss and understand your audiogram.

Also, included are lip-reading techniques, types of homework and educational handouts. As part of her presentation today, you will participate in a fun lip-reading lesson using words, phrases, sentences and a short story. She holds an M.A.Ed. degree in Deaf Education, Speech Pathology & Audiology. Her techniques will enhance your ability to hear and understand when speaking to others.

Admission is free and reservations are not required.
